The History of the
British Imperial Military Band
We have a picture of the band from 1935 after winning B.L. National Championships, the Crosfield Challenge Cup, the Hawkes Challenge Shield and the Van Den Bergh Challenge Shield.
The Picture shows Mr Thos. H. Rich as the Director of Music of the British Imperial Military Band, formerly the Bandmaster of HM Royal Scots Fusiliers.

Looking at the medals on the uniforms, it looks like the same ethos was apparent back in the early days as we currently use, employing former serving military musicians.
This Picture shows the band in a different setting.
The band is performing on an esplanade bandstand town (unknown) between 31st July – 6th August (unknown year).
The Director of Music is Mr W.J. McConnell, formerly of the Central Band of the Royal Air Force.
The British Imperial Military Band will continue to provide musical support to as many events as it can, giving the public the chance to hear and be entertained by military music.
