Amazingly the British Imperial Military Band remain the current Guinness world record holders for the fastest marching band to do a mile.

Sadly, our annual fanfare at the Royal Academy Arts didn’t happen this year due to Covid-19, looking forward to returning again soon.

One of our last events before lookdown was Burns Night at the Savoy Hotel after dinner entertainment playing a variety of music and joined by pipes and drums to give a Scottish feel to the evening.

The band’s first event. Playing to start the countdown 1000-days to go before the 2012 Olympic games in London. The band performed beating retreat on the drill square at Woolwich barracks. Later that day playing the Trap and Chariots of Fire theme as 1000 balloons were released.

With Remembrance Day in November, we spare a thought and take time to remember the musicians who have played with the British Imperial Military Band that are no longer with us.

March 2020, November 2020 and March 2021 concerts with Raymond Gubbay Productions of the Classical Spectacular in the Royal Albert Hall with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra were sadly cancelled. Looking forward to playing at the next Classical spectacular event.
